Finding accommodation in Paris
Paris is a vibrant city that attracts millions of visitors each year, therefore accommodation is highly sought after. At the Cnam we strongly advise that you to start looking at your housing options before you make the move to France.
There are numerous options on offer in and around the capital, ranging from living in university halls of residence to renting private apartments from independent landlords.
French universities do not systematically have their own accommodation and there is a shortage of places in the state-owned halls of residence (CROUS). As a result, there is a high presence of privately owned halls of residence in Paris and the surrounding region which charge significantly higher rents. The Cnam has access to 20 places in CROUS residences.
If you choose to apply, it is advisable to complete your application before the end of April.
The Welcome desk staff on your course programme can assist you with the CROUS application procedure. Alternatively, you can write to international@lecnam.net to obtain a list of suitable accommodation.
You can find a wealth of information about finding a suitable place to live on the French governmental website Campus France
